The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a heavy-duty sanding disc measuring 10" in diameter with an 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing designed to adhere securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. The disc includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The closed coat aluminum oxide abrasive provides a fast cut for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal, while being durable due to self-fracturing abrasive particles that expose fresh cutting edges. This abrasive is widely used for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces in various sizes and shapes, as well as woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The disc is intended for use with a backup pad (sold separately) attached to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disk sanders. It is commonly applied in metal fabrication as well as primary wood and panel processing industries. The heat-resistant resin bond ensures the abrasive remains stable under conditions of high heat and pressure, and the product comes with a warranty covering its performance and durability.
