Scotch-Brite™ EXL deburring wheel features a hard, dense consistency designed for quickly deburring, finishing, and polishing various materials including metals, composites, and glass, resulting in a smooth, clean surface. Its conformable nature makes it particularly effective for deburring stamped or laser-cut parts, as well as for finishing applications after belt sanding. The convolute construction ensures clean, uniform wear, allowing the wheel to run smoothly and helping operators achieve a professional finish while minimizing fatigue. The Scotch-Brite material operates at cooler temperatures, providing uniform wear and continuously exposing fresh abrasives, which is especially beneficial for heat-sensitive substrates, thereby extending the wheel's service life. The EXL deburring wheel is available with either silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide is sharp and ideal for low-pressure tasks like paint preparation, while aluminum oxide offers a high cut-rate and longevity. Although silicon carbide wears down faster than aluminum oxide, it yields a finer finish. Scotch-Brite™ integrates abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers, creating a load-resistant open-web material that maintains high cutting performance by preventing clogs.
