The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D, measuring 15 inches with NH 40 grit aluminum oxide, is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. The disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. The closed coat aluminum oxide abrasive provides a fast cut and long life, as this mineral self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, outperforming traditional abrasives like garnet. This sanding disc is ideal for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and various surfaces, compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders when pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately). The heat-resistant resin bond maintains stability under high heat and pressure conditions. Applications include blending, deburring, flat areas, grinding, orbital sanding, random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing, servicing industries such as metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing.
