The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D, sized 3" with NH 40 grit aluminum oxide, is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc uses aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat configuration for fast cutting during grinding and dual action sanding on metal. This versatile disc is designed for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its fast cut-rate, long life, toughness, and self-fracturing properties that expose fresh cutting edges, making it preferred by industrial professionals over traditional abrasives like garnet. The heavy-duty bond maintains stability under high heat or pressure. The disc is intended for applications in blending, deburring, flat area grinding, orbital and random orbital sanding in metal fabrication as well as primary wood and panel processing industries. The PSA cloth disc is compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, and stationary disc sanders when mounted to a backup pad (sold separately).
