The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 15" diameter, 60 grit heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing designed to adhere securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc uses aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat for a fast cut, ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal, providing a versatile and efficient solution for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts of various sizes and shapes. This PSA disc is pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately) attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. The aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it effective for woodworking and metalworking on ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin binder maintains abrasive adhesion and bond stability even under high heat or pressure.
