The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a heavy-duty 1" sanding disc with an 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive designed for fast cutting and long life. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen, facilitating efficient application and clean removal. The disc incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and durable cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications such as blending, deburring, grinding, and both dual action and random orbital sanding on metal and wood surfaces. The aluminum oxide particles are in a closed coat pattern, providing a tough, self-fracturing abrasive ideal for grinding and finishing metal parts and various shapes. This abrasive mineral is effective on a wide variety of materials, including ferrous alloys, due to its hardness, strength, and low heat retention. The disc is compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, and stationary disc sanders when used with a separately sold backup pad. It is widely used in industries such as metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing.
