Grade Quartz A is a fine porosity binderless quartz (SiO2) glass microfiber with a 99.999% efficiency in air filtration for the retention of 2.20µm particles and an effective temperature range of up to 1000°C. This media meets or exceeds the physical, performance, and elemental requirements for EPA PM10, ambient air monitoring methods, with a flow rate of 1.1 - 1.35 m³/min and resistance of 95mmH2O at 10.5 ft./min. It has a loss on ignition of less than 6%, and a tensile strength of 215g per 15mm (ASTM D828), with a machine direction (MD) tensile strength of 7.3 lbs/in (TAPPI T494). This product is primarily used in air pollution monitoring, atomic absorption spectroscopy, flame emission spectrometry, and other applications requiring extremely critical analysis. It is ideal for use in acidic gases (except hydrofluoric) and aerosols, as well as stacks and flue gas monitoring. The media features uniform screen and felt sides with uniform density in both machine direction and cross direction (MD/CD), demonstrating excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility, and is manufactured using a reverse osmosis water filtration system.
