Disposable non-sterile PTFE hydrophobic filtration media syringe filters feature Luer-Lok™ and pressure fitting, ensuring reliability with ultrasonically bonded construction. The filter media type is clearly inscribed on the barrel, providing excellent unit-to-unit and lot-to-lot reproducibility and consistency. The unique concentric funnel-shaped barrel design increases volume while decreasing back pressure, allowing optimal utilization of small sample volumes. These PTFE membranes are inherently hydrophobic, making them ideal for the filtration of nonpolar liquids and gases, while also exhibiting high resistance to solvents, acids, and bases. They offer excellent chemical compatibility for filtering harsh chemicals that may damage other membrane materials. Suitable applications include filtering and de-gassing chromatography solvents, filtering viscous organic-based HPLC samples, aerosol sampling, and serving as a moisture barrier for venting applications and vacuum pump line protection. After pre-wetting with alcohol, they may also be used for fine particle removal in aqueous and mild organic solutions in ion chromatography, and can be made more hydrophilic by flushing with alcohol followed by water.
