The general purpose capacitor start-inductor run motor features a 1/2 HP power output and operates at 1725 RPM, housed in a drip-proof (DP) enclosure with a 48 frame and resilient base mount. It is designed for use with a voltage of /277V, suitable for single-phase (1 PH) power at 60 Hz. With a nameplate current of 3.7 amps, this motor is built for continuous duty and has a service factor of 1.25, providing automatic thermal protection. The efficiency rating is 62, classified as standard type, and it can operate in ambient temperatures up to 40 C. The motor supports selective counterclockwise (CCW) rotation and comes with a shaft length of 1-1/2 inches and a shaft diameter of 5/8 inch. The drip-proof enclosure incorporates vents in the end shield and/or frame to effectively prevent liquid drops from entering the motor within a 15-degree angle from vertical, making it suitable for reasonably dry, clean, and well-ventilated indoor environments. If used outdoors, it is advised to protect the motor with a cover that does not obstruct airflow.
