The Jet designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing ensures rigidity and tolerance retention, while the swing away control box houses an E-stop and places all controls at the operator's fingertips. The innovative machine base design allows for easier leveling without lifting the machine off the floor. An automatic oiler releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication every 30 minutes, and for added safety, a heavy-duty spindle brake stops the spindle and interrupts power, preventing accidental start-ups. The relocated electrical box at the back of the mill includes two 115V outlets for powered accessories, and the unit is CSA/CUS certified. Class 7 spindle bearings provide maximum rigidity for heavy cutting applications, and the internally cooled spindle head extends the life of bearings, belts, and the motor. The table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for greater accuracy, while the X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and ensure smooth movements. Additional features include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all moveable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a tool box with tools. The specifications include a Newall DP700 digital readout, three-axis (knee) operation, X-axis powerfeed, pneumatic power drawbar, R-8 spindle taper, table size of 9" x 49", 3-3/8" quill diameter, variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, quill down feed rates of .0015 - .003 - .006 IPR, 5" spindle travel, head movement of 90° right and left and 45° front and back, maximum distance from the spindle to table of 20-3/4", and a minimum distance from spindle to column of 4-3/4". The collet capacity ranges from 1/8" to 7/8", with table longitudinal travel of 36" and 30-3/4" when using powerfeed, a table cross travel of 12-5/8", and T-slots numbering three with a size of 5/8" and centers at 2-1/2".
