Constructed using the Meehanite® casting process, the JTM-1050EVS2/230, a 10" x 50" electronic variable speed milling machine, provides consistent and reliable operation. The newly designed column and base incorporate a rigid, robust design that is easily leveled without lifting the machine. The kit includes features such as a jet-designed certified Meehanite® casting with enhanced ribbing for rigidity and tolerance retention, a swing away control box with an E-stop for operator convenience, and a unique machine base design that allows for easier leveling. An automatic oiler releases 3 to 6 cc/cy of lubrication at adjustable time intervals, while a heavy-duty spindle brake enhances safety by stopping the spindle and interrupting power to prevent accidental start-ups. The electrical box, relocated to the back of the mill, houses two 115V outlets for powered accessories. The machine is CSA/CUS certified and features class 7 spindle bearings for maximum rigidity during heavy cutting applications. The spindle head is internally cooled, prolonging the life of the bearings, belt, and motor, while the table and ways are hardened up to 54 HRC and precision ground for improved accuracy. The X and Y-axis are coated with Turcite-B to reduce vibration and ensure smooth movements. Additional attributes include a swing away safety shield, LED work lamp, chip pan, dual locks on all moveable surfaces, way covers, drawbar, and a toolbox with tools. Specifications include a digital readout of Newall DP700, powerfeed on the X-axis, spindle taper of R-8, table size of 10" x 50", quill diameter of 3-3/8", variable spindle speeds ranging from 60 to 4,500 RPM, quill down feed rates of .0015, .003, and .006 IPR, and a spindle travel of 5". The machine is backed by a two-year warranty.
