The Serengeti-IR™ residential radiant infrared tube heater is the original dry tube gas-fired system manufactured in the US by Combustion Research. This 50,000 BTU power vented system features a 3.5" OD emitter tube that operates on natural gas and includes a pre-engineered, gas-fired, unitary power vented design, specifically a 10 feet U-configuration system package. It provides energy savings of 30-50% over conventional heating systems. Each system is equipped with a powder-coated aluminized steel burner, a 3 ft power cord, and a 3 prong plug. Standard components include bright finish aluminum reflectors, tube and reflector hangers, intermediate supports, heat-treated aluminized steel radiant tubes, joint sealer, screws, a turbulator, a stainless steel flexible gas connector with a manual gas valve (US only), and two reflector end caps. The heater is suitable for residential garages and can also be used in various commercial and industrial applications such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, hangars, loading docks, workshops, fire stations, barns, and greenhouses. The system is CSA certified and comes with a limited warranty: one year on ignition controls and electrical components, and ten years on radiant tubes, with details outlined in the owner's manual. Installation must be conducted in accordance with local codes, laws, and regulations by an HVAC contractor qualified in gas-fired heating equipment installation and service.
