Tripp Lite's Internet550U standby UPS provides complete protection for PCs, workstations, and other sensitive electronics in an ultra-compact, mountable housing. It prevents data loss and system downtime by supplying battery-supported AC output during brownouts and blackout conditions. The unit features 8 output receptacles, including 2 widely spaced outlets designed to accommodate large transformer plugs without blocking other outlets. Four outlets offer full battery support and surge suppression to safeguard computers, monitors, and other essential components, while 4 additional outlets provide surge suppression only, suitable for printers and accessories not requiring battery backup. The UPS includes single line telephone suppression jacks to protect modems, fax machines, cordless phones, and other peripherals connected via standard dial-up or DSL phone lines. A USB port with PowerAlert monitoring software facilitates safe unattended system shutdown in case of an extended power failure, and the HID-compliant USB interface allows integration with built-in power management and auto-shutdown features for Windows and Mac OS X.
