Watts 957 Series reduced pressure zone assemblies, which began production in 2000 under the Hunter name and were acquired by Watts in 2002, are available in sizes 2 1/2" to 10" and constructed of stainless steel. The 957 Series is noted for its lightweight design and short lay lengths, making it a popular choice. It is offered in various configurations with multiple valve options, featuring a stainless steel sleeve that slides open for access to the check assemblies. For sizes 2 1/2" to 6", the #3 test cock must be unthreaded before sliding the cover, while sizes 8" to 10" utilize two Victaulic clamps to secure the stainless sleeve. The assembly employs two self-contained cam checks utilizing a tri-link check mechanism, and the relief valve operates with a piston/diaphragm style with an external sensing line hose. Notably, no special tools are required for servicing the devices.
