Watts 957 series reduced pressure zone assemblies, initiated in 2000 under the Hunter name and later acquired by Watts in 2002, are available in sizes ranging from 2 1/2" to 10" and are constructed from stainless steel. This series is recognized for its lightweight design and short lay lengths, making it a popular choice. The assemblies come in various configurations, offering multiple valve options. Accessing the check assemblies is facilitated by a stainless steel sleeve that slides open; for sizes 2 1/2" to 6", the #3 test cock must be unthreaded before the cover can slide open, while sizes 8" to 10" require two Victaulic clamps to secure the stainless sleeve. The assembly features two self-contained cam checks utilizing a tri-link check mechanism, and the relief valve is designed as a piston/diaphragm style valve with an external sensing line hose. Importantly, no special tools are required for service.
