The JET JTM-1050 mill is designed with Meehanite castings and features a heavy-duty hardened and ground 10 x 50 table for durability and precision. It is equipped with chrome lead screws on the X and Y axes, and Turcite B on both axes to enhance performance. The satin chrome finish on dials provides ease of reading, while the precision bored and honed milling head ensures quality cuts. A large diameter quill, which is chromed, is supported by high precision Class 7 spindle bearings. The spindle head is internally cooled, and the machine includes a no fuse breaker power connection for safety. The heavy-duty motor drive and chrome plated motor shaft with bearing support at the end contribute to its robust performance. The JET mill also features a one-piece quill pinion and shaft, a three-stage power downfeed with automatic stop, and a heavy-duty spindle brake. Locks are present on all movable surfaces, and the hardened and ground square vertical knee ways and cross ways enhance stability. Adjustable gibs are incorporated throughout, and an internal coolant tank is built into the base, though a coolant pump is not included.
