3M™ Scotch® 8981 filament tape measures 1" x 60 yds. with a thickness of 6.6 mil and is available in cases of 36 rolls. This tape features an increased tensile strength, making it a suitable solution for bundling pipes and reinforcing large bulk containers. It is constructed with a clear, filament-reinforced, polypropylene backing that is resistant to abrasion, moisture, scuffing, and breaking, even when nicked or punctured. The multi-layer synthetic-rubber adhesive system effectively prevents delamination and bonds well to various surfaces commonly used in packaging, including corrugated cardboard, fiberboard, plastic, and metals. Recommended applications for this industrial-strength tape encompass metal and pipe bundling, high-strength reinforcing, and heavy-duty strapping. The glass yarn filaments incorporated into the tape enhance its strength for box closing and bundling tasks.
