The 3M™ 9472LE adhesive transfer tape measures 1" x 60 yds. and has a thickness of 5.2 mil, packaged with 9 rolls per case. It is designed for applications requiring premium performance and a thicker profile compared to standard 2 mil tapes, making it a versatile solution for bonding plastics across various industries. This tape exhibits good chemical, humidity, and moisture resistance, and operates effectively over a wide temperature range from -40° F/-40° C to 300° F/148° C. The bond strength enhances with time and temperature, featuring very high initial adhesion. It is supplied on a printed 58 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner, suitable for die-cutting and converting applications. Manufactured using a solventless process, it belongs to the 3M™ high strength acrylic adhesive 300LSE family and meets UL 969. The tape provides excellent bonding to low surface energy substrates, such as powder coatings and plastics like polypropylene (PP), as well as high adhesion to metals and high surface energy materials for bonding dissimilar substrates. Its adhesive offers exceptional holding power and anti-lifting properties, with good resistance to industrial and consumer chemicals, moisture, and humidity. It is ideal for general-purpose attachment and assembly of a wide range of materials, and meets various automotive and OEM specifications. Typical applications include bonding rough substrates like textured plastics, plastic to metal bonding, consumer electronic device assemblies (e.g., phones and tablets), industrial electronic device assemblies, plastic assembly bonding across industries, and various assemblies in the automotive sector.
