The 3M™ 9472LE adhesive transfer tape measures 1/2" x 60 yds and has a thickness of 5.2 mil, with 18 rolls per case. This versatile tape is designed for applications requiring premium performance, providing a thicker profile than standard 2 mil tapes. It is an optimal solution for bonding plastics in various industries, exhibiting good chemical, humidity, and moisture resistance, and performing within a wide temperature range from -40° F/-40° C to 300° F/148° C. The bond strength improves over time and temperature, featuring very high initial adhesion. The tape comes with a printed 58 lb. polycoated kraft paper liner, making it suitable for die-cutting and converting applications. As part of the 3M™ high strength acrylic adhesive 300LSE family, this tape is created using a solventless manufacturing process and complies with UL 969. It offers excellent bonding to low surface energy substrates like powder coatings and plastics such as polypropylene (PP), as well as high adhesion to metals and high surface energy materials, which allows for bonding dissimilar substrates. The adhesive provides notable holding power and anti-lifting properties, and it is resistant to industrial chemicals, consumer chemicals, moisture, and humidity, making it ideal for general purpose attachment and assemblies across a wide range of materials. The tape is applicable for bonding rough substrates, plastic to metal bonding, and consumer electronic device assemblies such as phones, tablets, and wearables, as well as industrial electronic device assemblies and various automotive applications.
