3M™ 9498 adhesive transfer tape measures 1" x 120 yds and has a thickness of 2 mil. This product is available in cases of 36 rolls. The tape is designed for excellent flying splice and core starting wet grab characteristics, making it suitable for the printing industry with performance capabilities exceeding 2,000 feet per minute. It can withstand temperatures of up to 450°F (232°C) for brief dwell times of ten seconds or less and up to 250°F (121°C) for extended periods. Once bonded, the tape exhibits excellent peel and shear strength, making it appropriate for rigorous splicing applications and bonding plastics to metals. It features a high tack acrylic adhesive on a tan 60 lb. densified kraft paper liner, facilitating die-cutting applications and conforming well to irregular surfaces. Key applications include web splicing, core starting, and general-purpose bonding.
