3M™ 9420 double coated tape measures 1" x 36 yds and has a thickness of 4 mil, with 48 rolls per case. This double-sided tape features a 6.5 mil thickness and utilizes a 0.5 mil hand-tearable polyester film carrier that is lined with acrylic adhesive on both sides. It offers a high coat weight that allows for excellent adhesion to low surface energy substrates and provides notable UV resistance. Once bonded, the tape demonstrates ultra-high peel strength and excellent shear strength, making it suitable for rigorous splicing applications and bonding plastics to metals. The tape is mounted on a 55# glassine backing to facilitate ease of deployment, and its red color enhances visibility during splicing applications. The tape is designed for high-speed splicing applications, bonding decorative trim, plastics, and metal profile extrusions, attachment to irregular surfaces, seaming of vinyl banners, and various universal all-purpose bonding applications typical of double-coated tapes.
