Product Details
The AC gearmotor with parallel shaft is rated at 1/6HP and operates at 60 RPM with a gear ratio of 29 to 1, featuring an overhung load capacity of 268 pounds and a full load torque of 157 lb. in. It has a totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure, features a 38 frame, and is designed for 115/230V, single phase (1PH) operation with a nameplate current of 2.1 amps. These single phase gearmotors are intended for continuous duty in general purpose applications, utilizing a permanent split capacitor design compatible with 115/230VAC and 60/50 Hertz input, offering starting torques equal to running torques. The precision machined steel in-line gearing consists of a first stage steel helical gear followed by spur type gears, lubricated with semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage and ensure permanent lubrication. The output shafts incorporate needle bearings for high load capacities, constructed from hardened steel. Although these gearmotors can be mounted at any angle, it is advised to avoid positioning the shaft upwards with the motor below to prevent lubricant leakage into the motor in the event of seal failure. Caution is advised as stalling can lead to gearhead damage, particularly in ratios of 60:1 and higher. Recommended torque limiting provisions should be implemented, and the torque values provided denote the full load torque for optimal gear life. Overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft, and all PZ series gearmotors come with a continuous duty "run" capacitor; however, a conduit box is not included. The mounting dimensions of these model PZ gearmotors align with those of Bodine model D and Z gearmotors, Bison 100 gearmotors, Baldor/Boehm PSS models, as well as many Dayton gearmotors.
