Product Details
The AC gearmotor with a parallel shaft features a power rating of 1/15 HP, operates at 28 RPM, and boasts a gear ratio of 60 to 1. It is designed to handle an overhung load of 155 pounds and provides a full load torque of 100 lb-in. This gearmotor is equipped with a totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure and is classified as a 31 frame type. It operates on a single-phase electrical supply of 115V at 1PH. The gearmotor is constructed for continuous duty in general-purpose applications, utilizing a permanent split capacitor design that is rated for 115 VAC and 60 hertz input, ensuring starting torques equal to running torques. The inline gearing comprises precision machined steel, featuring a first stage of steel helical gears followed by spur type gears, with lubrication provided by semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage and ensure permanent lubrication. Output shafts are fitted with needle bearings for high load capacities and the shafts themselves are made of hardened steel. These gearmotors can be mounted at any angle, though mounting with the shaft up and motor below is not recommended to avoid potential lubricant leakage. Caution is advised as stalling the gearmotor may cause gearhead damage, particularly with ratios of 60:1 and higher; thus, torque limiting provisions are suggested. The torque values specified are for recommended full load torque to ensure reasonable gear life, while overhung load capacities are listed based on the center of the output shaft. Each PZ series gearmotor comes with a continuous duty "run" capacitor, although a conduit box is not included. They are compatible in mounting dimensions with Bodine model D and Z gearmotors, Bison 100 gearmotors, Baldor/Boehm PSS, and various Dayton gearmotors.
