The AC gear motor with parallel shaft features a power rating of 1/15 HP, operates at 57 RPM, and has a gear ratio of 30:1, with an overhung load capacity of 171 pounds and a full load torque of 56 lb-in. It is enclosed in a totally-enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure and has a 31 frame. The motor is designed for single-phase operation at 115V and 1PH. This gear motor is suitable for continuous duty and general purpose applications, utilizing a permanent split capacitor design rated for 115 VAC at 60 hertz input, providing starting torques equal to running torques. The inline gearing is constructed from precision machined steel, incorporating a first stage of steel helical gearing followed by spur type gears and lubricated with semi-fluid grease to minimize leakage and ensure permanent lubrication. The output shafts are equipped with needle bearings to support high load capacities and are made of hardened steel. These gear motors can be mounted at any angle, although mounting shaft up with the motor below is discouraged to prevent lubricant leakage into the motor. Caution is advised as stalling the gear motors could lead to gearhead damage, particularly in ratios of 60:1 and above, and implementing provisions to limit torque is recommended. The torque values specified correspond to recommended full load torque for optimal gear life, and the overhung load capacities are measured at the center of the output shaft. All PZ series gear motors include a continuous duty "run" capacitor, but a conduit box is not provided. These motors share mounting dimensions with Bodine model D and Z gear motors, Bison 100 gear motors, and Baldor/Boehm PSS, as well as many Dayton gear motors. Compatibility is confirmed with Baldor.
