Federal Signal's model TELC extension ringer device is a horn and strobe combination signal activated by the ringing signal of an analog telephone system. The TELC requires a ringing signal of 40-150VAC, 16-60Hz, and local 120VAC power for activation. The device is intended for vertical mounting on a rigid wall or post and features a three-conductor, six-foot, 120VAC power cord. Connection to the telephone network is achieved using a modular telephone line cord (RJ11) to an existing jack or a duplex jack (customer supplied) into an existing modular jack. Constructed with a durable zinc die-cast housing coated in gray powder enamel, the TELC includes an internal solid-state relay. This combination audible and visual signal incorporates a Vibratone horn and a three-dimensional strobe to indicate when the telephone rings. Designed for high ambient noise areas like manufacturing facilities, machine and sheet metal shops, it is also effective in large open spaces such as warehouses, loading docks, or large offices.
