The Federal Signals Model 27XST is an explosion-proof strobe light designed for 24VDC operation, producing 80 high-intensity flashes per minute. It is UL listed for Class I, Division 1, Groups C & D; Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F & G; Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B; and Class III, and is also CSA certified and marine rated. The strobe light features a voltage in-rush limiting PCB design for enhanced compatibility with factory automation control systems and reduced electrical interference with in-rush sensitive devices. It is Type 4X rated and constructed to meet IP66 standards, ensuring corrosion resistance through a powder epoxy finish applied to a copper-free aluminum housing. All exposed hardware is made from 316 grade stainless steel. The effective candela (ECP) is 850 with a peak candela of two million. Installation is facilitated by a supplied pendant mount, with optional ceiling and 90° wall mounts available. The mounting process involves first securing the mounting box, followed by threading the fixture onto it, establishing electrical continuity once five threads are engaged. Specifically designed for explosion-proof atmospheres and corrosive environments, the Model 27XST requires minimal maintenance, making it suitable for applications in oil rigs, mines, refineries, and chemical plants.
