Product Details
Grade A83 nano-scale glass microfiber features a loading capacity equivalent to that of a binderless glass microfiber filter, with a tightly regulated pore size suitable for microfiltration membranes. This specialty grade has a particle retention of 0.5 µm and boasts over 20 times the loading capacity and over 15 times the flow rate compared to an equivalent porosity MCE or CN membrane. The back pressure is nearly non-existent when compared to surface membranes. Composed of over 85% fiber content between 300 nm and 1000 nm, this material represents one of the highest surface area binderless glass microfiber products available. It is made of chemically inert, pure binderless borosilicate glass without sizing additives or surfactants, demonstrating low background noise in LC/GC/MS applications and very low extractables in the presence of aggressive solvents. The material also exhibits high protein affinity and is highly washable, making it ideal for separation recovery. It serves effectively as a pre-filter for micro-porous membranes, offering a much wider degree of heat tolerance than any other polymeric membrane, with a usable temperature reaching up to 500 °C.
