Disposable non-sterile cellulose acetate hydrophilic filtration media syringe filters are designed with Luer-Lok™ and pressure fitting for secure connections. These filters are ultrasonically bonded for enhanced reliability, and the filter media type is clearly inscribed on the barrel. They provide excellent unit-to-unit and lot-to-lot reproducibility and consistency. Featuring a unique concentric funnel-shaped barrel, these filters increase volume while decreasing back pressure. With very low binding capacity for proteins, the nitrate-free cellulose acetate makes them suitable for groundwater and EPA ASTM compliance. Applications include filtration under sterile conditions, clarification of biological fluids, sterilization of media additives and serum, and sample preparation of aqueous or protein-based HPLC solutions, particularly in situations requiring maximum sample recovery. They are specifically designed to sterilize and remove particulates from viscous proteinaceous samples and can be used with a glass fiber prefilter for filtering tissue culture media.
