The Grade D coarse porosity filter is designed for fast flow rates and provides a particle retention size of 2.7 µm, making it ideal for high-volume and repetitive laboratory filtering applications. This filter is also suitable as a general pre-filter to extend the life of primary filters. Manufactured from 100% borosilicate glass microfiber, these glass microfiber filters do not contain binders or strengthening agents. They utilize depth filtration, which traps particulates within the random matrix of fibers throughout the media's thickness. The filter's efficiency rating is determined by the complex void space structure formed as the fibers overlap. The smooth and uniform fibers allow for high flow rates while efficiently retaining exceptionally small particles and achieving a high load capacity.
