Product Details
Grade Quartz A is a fine porosity binderless quartz (SiO2) glass microfiber characterized by an impressive 99.999% efficiency in air filtration, specifically designed for the retention of 2.20µm particles. It operates effectively in a temperature range of up to 1000 °C and meets or exceeds the physical, performance, and elemental requirements set for EPA PM10 ambient air monitoring methods. The flow rate is between 1.1 - 1.35 m³/min, with a resistance of 95mmH2O at a velocity of 10.5 ft/min. The loss on ignition is less than 6%, and it exhibits a tensile strength of 215g per 15mm according to ASTM D828, while the machine direction (MD) tensile strength is 7.3 lbs/in based on TAPPI T494 standards. This media is primarily utilized in air pollution monitoring, atomic absorption spectroscopy, flame emission spectrometry, and other applications requiring highly critical analysis. It is particularly suited for use with acidic gases (excluding hydrofluoric acid) and aerosols, as well as in stacks and flue gas monitoring. The material features uniform screen and felt sides with consistent density in machine direction and cross direction (MD/CD), demonstrating excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility. Manufacturing processes are conducted using a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system.
