The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1/4 inch by 2-1/2 inches with NPT male threading. It is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This red brass nipple is easier to machine, less brittle, and more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. The brass material provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat and withstands attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. These brass nipples are primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications but are also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
