The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1 inch by 6-1/2 inches with NPT male threading. These brass nipples are manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, which provides enhanced machinability, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. The brass used offers excellent resistance to corrosion from water and heat and can withstand exposure to salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. This makes the nipples suitable for commercial plumbing, OEM applications, as well as oil, gas, and steam applications.
