The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 6 inches by 4-1/2 inches with NPT male threading. These brass nipples are manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230, known for its ease of machining, reduced brittleness, and superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. Brass provides excellent resistance to corrosion from water and heat, as well as against salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. Primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, this material is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
