The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 1/8 x 5-1/2 NPT Male and is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. This material is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and exhibits superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, notably preventing dezincification. Brass provides good corrosion resistance against water and heat, while also resisting attacks from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils present in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
