The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple measures 3/8 x 6.5 inches with NPT Male threads and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically Alloy 230. This red brass nipple is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and exhibits superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, which prevents dezincification. Brass provides good corrosion resistance to water and heat, as well as resistance to attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily utilized for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
