The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1/8 x 4-1/2 NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, known as Alloy 230. This type of brass is easier to machine, less brittle, and significantly more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it does not dezincify. The brass material provides excellent corrosion resistance against water and heat and is resistant to attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water.
