The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1/8 inch by 3 inches with NPT male threading and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, specifically Alloy 230. This material is easier to machine, less brittle, and offers superior corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. The brass provides good resistance to corrosion from water and heat, and it is also resistant to attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. This pipe nipple is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
