The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple is a 2 x 4 NPT Male fitting made from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. This type of brass is easier to machine, less brittle to work with, and offers superior resistance to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. The brass material provides good corrosion resistance from water and heat and is also resistant to attacks from salt water, acids, and minerals found in peaty soils.
