The Merit red brass seamless standard pipe nipple measures 1-1/4 inches by close NPT male and is produced from seamless red brass pipe, alloy 230. This material is easier to machine, less brittle, and more resistant to corrosion compared to yellow brass, as it will not dezincify. The brass offers good corrosion resistance against water and heat and resists attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils found in water. It is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications but is also suitable for oil, gas, and steam applications.
