The Merit Red Brass Seamless Standard Pipe Nipple 4 x 3-1/2 NPT Male is manufactured from seamless red brass pipe, specifically alloy 230. These brass nipples are easier to machine, less brittle, and exhibit greater corrosion resistance compared to yellow brass, notably resisting dezincification. The brass material provides excellent corrosion resistance to water and heat, and withstands attack from salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils commonly found in water. It is primarily used for water in commercial plumbing and OEM applications, as well as in oil, gas, and steam systems. The pipe nipple measures 4 inches in length with a 3-1/2 inch NPT male thread size.
