The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Surface Conditioning Disc measures 6 inches in diameter with a NH VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive, designed for cleaning, blending, deburring, and finishing tasks. Constructed from durable, non-woven fibers that conform to irregular or contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material, the disc features an open-web design that runs cool and resists loading for prolonged operation. The evenly distributed aluminum oxide abrasive delivers a high cut-rate, consistent finishing, and long life due to its toughness and self-fracturing property, exposing fresh cutting edges during use. Aluminum oxide, known for its hardness, strength, and low heat retention, is suitable for a wide variety of substrates in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The abrasive system incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, maintaining high-performance cutting by limiting clogging. Typical applications include blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, light grinding, rust removal, and weld cleaning, serving industries such as aerospace, general industrial, marine, metalworking, maintenance repair and operations (MRO), transportation, and heavy equipment.
