The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning disc measures 4-1/2" in diameter with a NH SFN grit silicon carbide abrasive. It features a durable, non-woven fiber construction that conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, enabling prolonged operation, while the evenly distributed aluminum oxide abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its toughness, durability, and self-fracturing properties to expose fresh cutting edges, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing on a variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. This industrial abrasive incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life by limiting clogging and maintaining high performance.
