The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ surface conditioning disc measures 4" in diameter with an NH SFN grit made of silicon carbide and features a durable, non-woven fiber construction that conforms well to irregular or contoured surfaces without undercutting or damaging the base material. The disc incorporates aluminum oxide abrasives, known for their high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and long life due to self-fracturing, making them suitable for diverse grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, enabling prolonged operation and consistent finishing by limiting clogging. This surface conditioning disc is effective for cleaning, blending, deburring, contour finishing, light grinding, rust removal, and weld cleaning. It is used extensively in industries such as aerospace, general industrial, marine, metalworking, maintenance, repair and overhaul, transportation, and heavy equipment.
