The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D, measuring 8 inches in diameter with NH 36 grit aluminum oxide, is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed with a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. It features a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The aluminum oxide abrasive is in a closed coat, providing a fast cut rate for grinding and dual action sanding on metal, offering a versatile method for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. This PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) disc is pressed onto a backup pad (sold separately) that attaches to disc sanders including random orbital and stationary models. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its fast cut-rate, durability, self-fracturing abrasive particles, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it ideal for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys.
