The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 8" x NH P120 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy duty sanding applications, featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres securely to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient use and clean removal. It utilizes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, with aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a closed coat that provide a fast cut suitable for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal. This disc is versatile for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The disc attaches via PSA to a backup pad, which is sold separately and compatible with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its fast cut-rate, long life, toughness, and self-fracturing properties, maintaining sharp edges longer than traditional abrasives like garnet, and it is effective for woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
