The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 5" diameter, NH P100 grit aluminum oxide heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing designed to adhere efficiently to a backup pad or steel platen for clean removal. It incorporates a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. The disc utilizes aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat pattern, providing a fast cut ideal for grinding and dual action (D/A) sanding on metal, enabling deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing of metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive disc is applied to a backup pad, sold separately, which can be attached to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive is durable and self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, offering long life and fast cut-rate, and is appropriate for both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin binder secures the abrasive to the backing, maintaining bond stability under high heat or pressure. Typical applications include blending, deburring, grinding, and orbital sanding in metal fabrication and primary wood and panel processing industries.
