The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 5" with NH and P120 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc designed for use with a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. This disc features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, a heat-resistant resin bond, and a cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It incorporates aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat pattern, offering a fast cut rate for grinding and dual action sanding on metal surfaces. The disc is ideal for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and various shapes and sizes, with applications including blending, deburring, flat area grinding, orbital and random orbital sanding, metal fabrication, and primary wood and panel processing. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its toughness, self-fracturing abrasive properties, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it effective for woodworking and metalworking on ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin ensures that the abrasive remains securely bonded to the backing, even under conditions of high heat or pressure.
