The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D 2" x NH 80 grit aluminum oxide is a heavy-duty sanding disc featuring a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing designed to adhere to a backup pad or steel platen for efficient application and clean removal. This disc is constructed with a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, making it suitable for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. Aluminum oxide particles in a closed coat provide a fast cut rate ideal for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. The disc is versatile for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The pressure-sensitive adhesive disc is pressed onto a separately sold backup pad, which attaches to disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its fast cut rate, long life, self-fracturing ability that exposes fresh cutting edges in use, and suitability for a wide variety of materials including ferrous alloys. The heat-resistant resin bond maintains the abrasive's stability under high heat or pressure.
