The 3M™ PSA cloth disc 348D is a 3" x NH 80 grit aluminum oxide heavy-duty sanding disc designed for high heat and heavy-duty sanding applications. It features a high-strength pressure-sensitive adhesive backing that adheres efficiently to a backup pad or steel platen for secure attachment and clean removal. The disc includes a heat-resistant resin bond and cloth backing, providing durability and stability under high heat and pressure conditions. Its aluminum oxide abrasive, arranged in a closed coat, offers a fast cut rate suitable for grinding and dual action sanding on metal. This disc is effective for deburring, blending, cleaning, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes. The PSA disc is intended to be pressed onto a backup pad, which is sold separately, and used with disc sanders, random orbital sanders, or stationary disc sanders. Aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its toughness, self-fracturing ability to expose fresh cutting edges, long life, and suitability for a wide range of materials, including ferrous alloys.
