The 3M™ Cubitron™ II fiber disc 982C is designed for edge chamfering, beveling, and effectively removing carbon steel welds, mill scale, pits, imperfections, and machining grooves. Utilizing proprietary Cubitron™ II technology, these discs feature 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain that is enhanced by precision shaped grain technology, producing triangular-shaped grains that are electrostatically oriented on the backing, creating sharp peaks for maximum cutting efficiency. The self-sharpening grains reduce heat due to friction, providing up to twice the lifespan of standard fiber discs while requiring less grinding pressure. With a tough, stiff backing made from vulcanized fiber, these heavy-duty discs are capable of handling rigorous grinding applications, making them ideal for both large and small metal surface preparations.
